How long will you retain samples?

 Standard company practice is to retain a reserve sample for 90 days. However if this is required to be extended please let us know in advance and we can do so.

Can I get a discount?

All rates are reviewed on a commercial basis.

Do you provide sample containers?

No we do not provide this but can do at a cost.

Can you collect my samples?

Depending on location we are able to collect samples please contact us to discuss.

Where do I send the sample?

Our HQ solid fuel lab is located at – Unit 1 Palmermount, Industrial Estate, Bypass Road, Dundonald, KA2 9BL. However we have a global presence and can perform the analysis at a number of our worldwide labs.

When can I expect my results?

Generally 3 – 5 working days on receipt of the sample. However we can also accommodate a much quicker TAT depending on testing required.

No, all work is invoiced on a job by job basis. New clients are required to pay a proforma invoice.

What spec should I follow for my samples?

Specifications are dependent on individual contracts usually.

What’s the difference between Gross CV and Net CV?

Gross Calorific Value is described as per ISO standards as measuring heat value - absolute value of specific energy of combustion for unit mass of a solid fuel burned in oxygen in a calorimeter bomb under specific conditions. The test is carried out on air dried sample and is calculated to as received and dry basis.   Net Calorific is a calculation on the heat value which encompasses GCV, total moisture, hydrogen, nitrogen and oxygen.   The main difference between GCV & NCV according to ISO 1823 is related to the physical state of water in the reactive product.

This is dependent on material type/grade, we can perform Ash Fusion Temperature testing.
